UMMNH Geology Gallery

Graphic layouts & Diagrams
(In-house with Lord Cultural Resources)

When the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History in Ann Arbor moved into a new building, its geology collection moved into a long corridor space to showcase its collections in thematic groupings while also providing scientifically rigorous interpretation. Titled “Dynamic Planet”, it uses the specimens as jumping-off point to teach big-picture Earth Science concepts.

My role in this space as the graphic designer was to create layouts, object labels, and vinyl graphics for the cases that mediated the complex interaction between content, design, and specimens, while following project style guidelines and accessibilty standards.

I also created some of the gallery’s custom diagrams and maps, using supplied scientific references.
