The Harley-Davidson Museum is ranked as one of Milwaukee’s top tourist attractions and aims to engage visitors of all ages and interests. This 80’ long corridor exhibit was built around the award-winning children’s book My Papi Has a Motorcycle from author Isabel Quintero and illustrator Zeke Peña. Telling the story of a bond between motorcycling father and young daughter, the book’s themes are further explored in stories from real-life motorcyling families in southern California.
To match the sun-drenched palette of the book, the corridor was transformed with a bright paint palette complimenting Zeke Peña’s illustrations, which were included throughout the exhibit. Dozens of graphically embellished family photos were included alongside quotations and stories from the families. It was also the Museum’s first ever bilingual exhibit, with text in both English and Spanish.
