Campus Illustration: CoLab
Stanford Business Magazine / Point Five
This two-page spread was commissioned to interpret the “CoLab”, a multipurpose space at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
The illustration needed to show some of the CoLab’s many capabilities — independent and group work, socialization, presentations, prototyping — as well as conceptually convey the collaborative and interdisciplinary spirit of the space. Reference photos were used to build up recognizable elements and activities within the room, without depicting the space literally.
The composition also needed to be carefully built to be used in 3 different formats (for example, with the right half as a standalone piece, with a pull quote, as a digital asset, etc).
